2 firm pears, peeled, halved and cored
1 star anise
1/2 cinnamon stick
4 allspice berries
300 ml unsweetened red grape juice
cinnamon
0% Greek style yoghurt
2 biscotti biscuits
Put the pear halves, star anise, cinnamon stick and allspice berries in a small saucepan and pour in the grape juice. Heat the pears gently over medium heat for about 15 minutes, turning them halfway through, until tender.
Scoop the pears out of the juice and reserve, keeping warm. Increase the heat and boil the liquid for 3-4 minutes until reduced and syrupy. At this point, you can strain the spices out if you prefer; or leave them in as a pretty garnish.
Arrange two pear halves on each serving plate. Spoon the spiced syrup over and serve with yoghurt dusted with cinnamon and a couple of biscotti biscuits.
