Apple Compote

Our Apple Compote works with breakfast or as a tasty treat after dinner.

Ingredients

4 apples

2 tsp cinnamon

450ml water

juice of half a lemon

Method

Peel, core and finely dice the apples.

Add the apples to a saucepan, sprinkle the cinnamon over them and top with water and lemon juice. Stir all of the ingredients.

Turn the heat on medium until it comes to a low boil. Reduce the heat, and leave to simmer for 20-30 minutes.

Take the saucepan off the heat, and mash the ingredients slightly.
