New mum Caoimhe O’Neill Drops 5st

It’s been a huge year for Caoimhe so far. The bubbly mother of one got married at the end of February and did so in a size 12 dress that had to be taken in at the last minute. There’s a history about this dress though because at one stage, the size 16 didn’t fit. “I know it’s quite a journey,” Caoimhe remembers. “It goes back to when I had my baby- I had an awful pregnancy, and I wasn’t right afterwards. In fact, I had postnatal depression and felt so low. I took extended maternity leave and lived in track suits, eating convenience food all the time. Then  I realised there was a common denominator to this- how I looked, or more precisely, how I felt about how I looked. I joined Unislim in July 2013. It was great, and from that day, I just kept going forward. I started attending Unislim classes in Killiney, and lost two stone. Then I joined Jean Kelly’s class in Little Bray in November, and lost three more stone before my wedding. It’s been amazing, and in talking with Jean, she’s really helped me identify stuff- like how much of an emotional eater I can be.” Caoimhe has learned lots of new ways to cope, however, when it comes to meals, she now plans her food well in advance. “And now that I’m at my wedding goal, Jean is helping me to maintain my target weight and gives little challenges to keep me motivated.” Most of all, Caoimhe has a new outlook. “I enjoy life now. And I want to be sure my son Callum is healthy, that he’s brought up on good, nutritious food.”
