Warm Plum Compote
warming and fruity wake up meal
- 300ml Boiling water
- 15g Canderel yellow
- 500g Plums, stones removed
- 2 Cinnamon sticks
- 3-4 whole Star anise
- to serve Low fat yogurt/soya yogurt
1 Heat a large saucepan and pour in the boiling water. Add the sugar and let the mixture bubble for 30 seconds.
2 Add the plums, cinnamon sticks and star anise and simmer for 8-10 minutes.
3 Remove the plums, and simmer the sauce, stirring gently until it thickens. Then pour the sauce over the plums and leave to cool slightly before topping with a dollop of low fat yogurt.
